Karen's first business venture started in New Zealand in 1989 when she helped her husband set up a Fire Protection business. She made history by becoming the first female director of a Fire Protection company in NZ. Their businesses quickly expanded to beocme six businesses in the Construction Industry.

Karen continued to make history by becoming the 1st female chair of the NZ Fire Contractors Association.  She went on to negotiate mergers with various fire related associations bringing them together under one group  NZ Fire Protection Association.  During Karen's chairmanship ISO9000 standards were introduced; Industry training standards were brought in and standardisation of Fire Protection Standards between NZ and Australia were adopted.

Today Karen is the founder of The £2.73 Club, Tiroka Group of Companies which includes Property Management Services, Health & Beauty and Publishing.  Many of Karen's businesses are available as franchises.

Karen is a supporter of Network Marketing ventures running her own business through Telecom Plus - Utility Warehouse Discount Club.


Investor

Karen has investment interests in Property, Shares, Angel Investing, P2P, Commodities and Cash.  Through her investment strategies Karen was able to retire in 2003 at the age of 44.  In 2011 Karen came out of retirement and started her business ventures focusing on helping others achieve financial independence.

Karen is the author of several books on Investing and Personal Development. She writes articles for various organisations including Motorsport, Karting, Hawkes Bay Today, Toastmasters and has had numerous property related articles published around the world.  Karen collaborates with other authors on business skills related books.


Speaker

Karen is an award winning international speaker having spoken in Britain, New Zealand and Spain.  Karen is a motivational speaker and covers investing and business skills.


Community Support

In March 2016, Karen became the Chair for Torfaen Effect an organisation which supports people wanting to become self employed or needing support with an existing business.
